DD/S requests reduction in printing and reproduction requirements.
CIA budget request will probably go through in reduced amounts. PPS
should continue to check on budget allocations for aster STATINTL
Plan.
In order to reduce the number of staff v personnel, all elements of
the Agency are requested to be alert for possibilities for outside con-
tracting services.
The Director of Central Intelligence appeared twenty-three times before
this session of Congress (record).
DD/S will pass on nominations for high-level schools on Monday, 18
August.
The Director of Personnel has prepared a new overtime policy. We should
receive details during week of 18 August.
The following key officials on extended leave beginning 18 August: STATINITI
STATINTL Mr. -becomes Chief, PP Staff an r. becomes STATINTL
Chief, Far East Division 18 August.
In all Agency papers insure proper use of "Clandestine Services vs. DD/P. "
Director of Training plans to arrange for interviewing all OTR career people
twice each year and arranging to correspond with those career people in the
field, to better assist him in fulfilling his responsibilities as Director, OTR
Career Service.
Director of Training desires that the covert training personnel move closer
into the training family.
The Director of Training has been requested by Legislative Liaison Officer
to reply to letter of complaint received by Senator Russell relative to those
items which have a training implication: (1) Instruction on project outline.

little interest, and several members o a training class quit prior to
completion of course.
Reply was requested not later than Monday noon, 18 August, and a
meeting was held following the staff meeting to provide the required

DD/S is seriously considering a plan which will record the overtime
work for which no compensation or compensatory time was received in
order to emphasize to Congress that voluntary contributions on the part
of personnel of the Agency have succeeded in reducing operating costs.
