25X1 D 1. The attached- proposal relative t
of guided missiles was submitted 25X1 C
to the Assistant Director for Scientific me igence,
Central Intelligence .Agency, on 14 March 1956, and subsequently
referred by that office to the Guided Missile Intelligence Committee on
21 March 1956.
2. Briefings presented to the Committee by Air Force and Army
representatives emphasized the long standing U. S. cognizance of and
interest in the as an intelligence 25X1 D
collection mechanism. The briefings further highlighted U. S. projects
and plans in this area and indicated a relatively free exchange of infor-
mation in this field 25X1 C
3. It is the opinion of the Guided Missile Intelligence Committee
25X1 C that the_proposal is, to a great extent, derived from a knowledge
25X1 C of interest in and activities related to 25X1 D
25X1D
4. The Guided Missile Intelligence Committee has concluded
that the use 'of is a feasible mechanism 25X1 D
for the collection of certain elements of guided missile intelligence and
that there is a reasonable prospect of producing suitable scientific aids
for such collection. 25X1 C
5. The Committee has further concluded that present-efforts
in this field, together with the relatively complete exchange of information
