MEMORANDUM FOR THE INTELLIOENCE ADVISORY COMMITTEE
SUBJECT: Report of Discussions Relative to Recommendation No. 2
of the President's Board of Consultants on Foreign
Intelligence Activities dated 24 October 1957
I. We understand that the matter discussed in the attached
memorandum has been placed on the agenda of the USCIB meeting now
scheduled for 22 January. Moreover, we have been informed that the
AEC and the Joint Staff members of the IAC (the only IAC agencies riot
also represented on USCIB) have been invited to attend this meeting of
USCIB so that all of the members of both USCIB and the IAC will be
present when this question is considered.
2. Copies of the attached memorandum have already been cir-
culated by the USCIB Secretariat through their regular channels to
USCIB members and copies have also been forwarded to the AEC and
the Joint Staff. However, we understand that USCIB and IAC materials
normally are handled by different staffs within certain agencies.
Consequently, for purposes of administrative convenience we are
forwarding a limited number of additional copies of this memorandum
through IAC channels.
