Deputy Director for Intelligence, The Joint Staff, re Depart-
f Defense study on defense against ballistic missiles,
cued consideration of highly classified back-up report (prepared
by working group headed by Strong); reply forwarded to WSEG
and back-up report to GMI,C (LAC-M-321, item 9).

and monitor implementation of collection effort in ICSIA field
should be established on a permanent basis. Scovilleas
committee on Recommendation No. 4 was asked to draft

highly classified report for the White House on guided missile

21. 18 March 1958 - IAC approved revision of Priority National
lntiJligenes Objectives, which give highest priority to Soviet
capabilities for nuclear attack by any weapons delivery system,
including missiles.* also new priority objectives in field of
guided missiles to be prepared (IAAC-M-333, item 4).
