SUBJECT: Release of NIE's to USIA
REFERENCE: Memorandum from Chief LD/CD to Secretary, IAC,
same subject, dated 18 January 1955
1. Pursuant to the request of USIA forwarded by you with referenced
memorandum we have reviewed very carefully the file of NIE's to determine
which ones are currently valid and releasable to USIA. For this purpose
we have eliminated those published before 1 April 1953 as being out of date
as well as those -which have become outdated or have been superseded
since 1 April 1953. Certain special purpose NIE's outside the area of
interest of USIA have also been omitted.
2. On the basis of the above review, release of the following is authorized:
