NSC Designation of USIA as Recipient of National Intelligence
1. AU agencies having concurred in IAC-D-82/2
(ttProped Release of NIE's to USIA." 6 August 1954.)
the DCI requested the NSC to designate USIA as a recipient of
National Intelligence pursuant to paragraph 5a of NSCID-1.
2. The NSC designated USIA. n 9 September 1954 "...
as a governmental agency to which the Director of Central
Intelligence shall disseminate National Intelligence required
essential to the accomplishment of the mission of the USIA as
determined by the Intelligence Advisory Committee."
3. Consequently, USIA will receive national estimates
subject to a determination by the IAC on the dissemination to
USIA of each estimate at the time of its final approval.
