SUBJECT : Review and Recommendations on
CIA Air Activities
1. Attached is a review of CIA air activities along with appropriate docu-
n+aents required to merge the Development Projects Staff, the Air Division,
the Air Maintenance and Support Division of the Office of Logistics, and the
air portions of the Far East Division into one unit under the DD/P, to be
designated as the Development Projects Division.
2. The study and its recommendations have been coordinated with the
Air Division, the Office of Logistics, the Far East Division, and the DPS.
Changes suggested have either been resolved or incorporated into the com-
pleted staff paper. Agreement has been reached on personnel by name from
the Air Division, the Office of Logistics, and FE, who will be part of the
merged organization.
3. It is recommended that you:
a. Approve the study and its recommendations and sign the proposed
memorandum to the Director.
b. Approve and forward to the Director for his signature the pro-
posed directive to the appropriate CIA heads. /`
c. Approve and sign the letter of instructions to chief of survey team.
1 d. Transmit all of the appropriate documents to the overseas Chiefs
of Stations concerned by means of personal letters over your signature.
