(a) To merge the functions of the Aircraft Mi3et ce and
Support Division (AND), Office of Logistics with Project CHALICE idrteriel
activities. The merged functions to be deeiV*ted as the Materiel Branch,
Development Projects Division (DPD), DD/P. 2* merger to be phased as
Indicated in Tab I of this Awiem.
(b)- To provide more effective support of Apney air assets.
2. Assutions:
(a) The merger of AMID and CHALICE Materiel functions will in-
itially require the mawment of seven (7) Positions frcm the Office of
Logistics to the DPD. This visualises that two (2) Supply positions will
raaamsa in the Office of Logistics, also that one (1) position for
a Colonl, Air Force mould not be required in view of the reduction in
status of AId31D from Division to Section. MR addition, by pooling the one
(1) secretarial position frcm AMID with the one currently assiped to the
Material Breach, DPD mould leave one secretarial position (AM D) surplus.
Thus are the eleven 111) positions authorised to ADD accounted for.
(b) Cceplete control over minteneace activities, both domestic
and overseas mould reside in the 1 teerieat Bre-nch, DPD.
(c) A new approach will be cede to the Dement of the Air Force
with respect to the support of those additional activities which have
accrued to the DPD as a result of the merger.
(d) Ultimately,prime-ry, responsibility for effecting the mainten-
ance and inspection of aircraft under control of DPD, would be placcci with
the field organizations.
(e) The aa~a2ntsaaace activities at Eeadgwarters veld be in the
form of monitoring and. tr+oublee?*hooting activity to assure:

That operations had adequate materiel infozmtion
to be properly responsive to Agency requirsaeents.
(2) That Air Force response to DPD mainta nce require-
ments is timely and adequate.
(3)
To effect periodic field coordiaetioo trips to assure
compliance with DPD Directives next to discuss and
attempt to alleviate problene that have gated in
the field.

merged activity, to be knom as the Materiel Branch, MD, the orgy
ization of vlhich is demonstrated in Tab 2.

(c) Aircraft currently controlled by CHALICE are reflected
in Tab 9.
(d) Aircraft currently the responsibility of A1O are
reflected in Tab 10.
