SUBJECT : Semi-annual Report to the President's Board
of Consultants (Hull Committee}
1. The following information covers the period 1 October 1959
through 31 March 1960:
The suggestion Awards Committee adopted 62 employee sug-
gestions, 51 of which were in cash and 11 were Letters of
Appreciation. The cash awards totaled $3,810 with net first
year tangible savings of $35,951 plus intangible benefits.
These figures represent substantial increases of $440 and
X3,064, respectively, for the same period last year. The
Committee's objective, to increase employee participation ~
has made a signigicant impacts-- an increase of 50 suggestions
over last year's figure is due largely to an intensive Pro-
gram briefing of supervisors through the media of lectures,
films and workshop discussions.
