Accomplishnnents A. Branch Projects Submitted CSR Project 34.1611., Ruble /Dollar Ratios for Machine Tools, Metalforming Machinery, Textile Machinery an Abrasives. This project was an outgrowth of ORR Project 10.824. ORR Project 34.1016, Pattern of Crude Abrasive Use in the USSR. This roject was again reviewed in the branch and submitted with the recommendation that it be published as a supplement to CIA/R'R PR-103. B. other Projects Submitted Evaluation of industrial equipment displayed at the Chi Cara Commercial Exhibit in Cario. ORR Project No. 10.803. Submitted revised estimates of agricultural machinery production in view of recent information announced by the USSR. C. Special Research 16 hours were spent in special research in July. Confe r~ences were held in the country regarding materials that could be used to support the series of Chinese indus- trial investment projects scheduled for FY t57. D. Other CSI No. 394, New Research Institute for Metal- forming prepared by 25X1 A9a Current Intelligence Digest, 11 July 1956, item on establishment of metalforming research institute. Submitted recommendations to EIC Subcommittee on Industrial Machinery and Equipment regarding the pro- posed Forge-Press Exchange Visit. 2.
