SUBJECT: NDAC Lists of 25 August 1956

1. In the sphere of construction there is no item on the
recent MDAC Lists which is considered directly and significant-
ly associated with the mining and manufacture of fissionable
materials and delivery of those materials.
2. Further, there is no item on these lists which, if
denied the Soviet Bloc, would restrict military or economic
construction to an important extent.
3. The items of direct or indirect concern to this Branch
are the following:
a) 1150, p. 17: Oil well drilling and exploration
equipment
b) 1325, p.21-.Excavating and moving equipment....
specifically designed for airborne transport
c) 32323, p.64: Power-operated excavators, shovels
of the excavator type and cranes
4. Priority construction is undoubtedly well supplied with
construction machinery and equipment. For other construction the
supply appears to be reasonably good at present, and will be in-
creased in 1957 when new capacity will be in production.
