SUBJECT : Request' for Information For Use in TSC Annual Report
1. :Jn order to prepare a preliminary draft, of :the Annual
TSC report for the fiscal year 1956s it is necessary for the Secretariat to
have additional information from the members. Specifically, your comments
are requested on the following sections of the outline distributed at the
last TSC meeting:
1. Research and Collection Deficiencies
In regard to the priority research gaps which
have been indentified by the subcommittee's review
of its field, list actions taken or programs
initiated to fill these gaps. Actions to fill
major gaps include the following:
1) initiation of projects by individual agencies
to fill major gaps identified by the subcommittee,
2) initiation of inter-agency projects, and
3) programming of projects for external research.
In regard to the priority requirements for
collection of information which have been
identified by the subcommittees report any,
recommendations which have been made for improving
the processing or collection of available information.
2. Review of Proposals for External Research

Give a brief summary of the subcommittee's review of
proposals for external research, in accordance with
the provisions of DCID 35/i.

3. Evaluation of the Role of the SuboOninittee
a. Evaluate the extent to which the subcommittee has
realized its potential as a medium for inter-agency
review and coordination, as a mechanism for improving
economic intelligence research within its field of
interest, and any general views of the subcommittee
regarding definition of its mission.

impede the efficient functioning of the subcommittee
and any remedial suggestions which appear appropriates
