At the maeting on 27 March, of D/S commented on the
various sessions of the U.S... Polish talks which he attended. He
discussed the ha .-grounds and attitudes of various members of the
Polish delog.:tion led by iir. Kotlicki. In general, the men who com-
posed the delegation appeared to be competent in their respective fields.
After an introductory moetin;, the sessions proceeded to discuss the
Polish balance of pa ments, the agricultural situation, and Poi Lsh coal.
Throughout the discussions the Polish delegates were quite frank in
answer1ng questions posed by the U.S. dele?ation. The Polish delegation
presented a rletailed list of needed comrnodi ties with deli-very priorities
in,,'icated, and stated that 1Y S. financial claims against Poland could
be cons5derer? at some future date, preferably in Warsaw.
