discoveries. While sere oil is produced in each of the satellites
except t Germany., production is heavily concentrated in Rumania.
Oily Ru nia and Albania axe able to satisfy their domestic require-
ments for petxo3ARm products. Hungary produces a substantial portion
of Its osn needs but East Gerisapy, 1 iand. and Czechoslovakia are
heavy importers of oil. Although Dulgu-i& has made notable recent
discoveries in the Dobruja area, it still relies on imports frcae
Renmmala. Despite recent grwth in satellite production and the anti-
cipated development dtuimg the 1956-60 period, the sate3lites,
according to currant estimates, gill produce in 1960 a saal3.er pent..
awe of bloc petrolewa than in 1955.
Among the various mews of transporting petroleum in eeaatatrn
Europe, vease3.s operating on the Danube are particularly important.
