SUBJECT: Decrease in Intelligence
THROUGH:
1. As you are aware from a copy of the memorandum on
this subject addressed to me from the Assistant Director for
Current Intelligence on 3 September 1953, there has been a
worsens in the collection of current intelligence information
froze
2. This problem has been brought to the attention of the
State Department in a letter, along the same lines as that
cited, from the Deputy Director (Intelligence) to Mr. Armstrong.
3. It would be appreciated if P1 would raise with the IPC
the question of whether or not the potential of covert sources
of intelligence information on ould be expanded to
meet the deficiencies noted.
