MEMORANDUM FOR: Director of Administration, DPS/DCI
SUBJECT Visit to Cape Canaveral
1. Colonel Dick Stewart of AFCIN has called to invite me to go
with him to visit Cape Canaveral, leaving here about 1:30 p. m. Tuesday,
2 September, and returning by 8 p. m. on the following evening. This
would be by way of military air, and thus the expense would be nominal.
2. I would like to take advantage of this opportunity for the
observation briefing available to us at the Cape. It may be that it would
be of some value in connection with the formulation of our requirements
on guided missiles.
3. Colonel Stewart understands that the pressure of work here
may at the last minute require me to cancel out.
4. Recommendation: That you approve my accepting the Air
Force invitation to visit Cape Canaveral.
