1. This note is to confirm my message by phone to you on
1 July 1958 as follows: The Navy believes, on the basis of collateral
information, it is important that as soon as possible they have a chance
to look at 6012. It is my understanding that you have made arrangements
with the factory to have this material available on Thursday evening,
3 July, at HTAUTOMAT, and normal procedures for preliminary exami-
nation of incoming film will take place in HTAUTOMAT at that tim e.
2. In view of your report that the factory will not be working
over the Fourth of July, it did make sense to have the original negative
brought down with the WC to permit;
a. efficient and rapid reproduction of selected prints for
the community by HTAUTOMAT, and
b. An opportunity for technical consultants to CHALICE
to examine this product of the
