SUBJECT ; Annual Report to the NSC on the Status
of the Foreign Intelligence Program
REFERENCE IAC-D-55/ 12, dated 10 July 1957
1. As foreshadowed in the reference rnernorandum, we have
now received the attached memorandum #rom the NSC, requesting
the usual Annual Report to the NSG. As expected, the memorandum
calls for a report along the lines of last year's, but without the
material included in last year's Annexes B and C. The scope being
thus apparently clear, we do not believe we need any preliminary
meeting.
2. In order to meet the 1 September deadline, which is
somewhat more generous than we had feared, we propose the
following work. schedule:
Friday, 2 August: contributions d~.e in IAC Secretariat
Monday, 19 August (approximately; coordination
sessions begin
Submission to IAC preferably on 27 .August, possibly
on 3 September
3. Please call the IAC Secretariat i# this schedule raises
any problems.
