MEMORANDUM FOR CHAIRMAN AD HOC REQUIREMENTS COMMITTEE
SUBJECT: Requirement for Photo Coverage of Afghanistan
1. Numerous reports of varying degrees of reliability continue
to be received from Afghanistan which state Soviet jet aircraft are
located there. Soviet aircraft in this area have considerable significance
in relation to political developments in the Middle East. Confirmation or
denial of these reports is considered of a priority second only to that of
current coverage of Syria, Jordan and Egypt.
2. It is requested photo cover be accomplished of the following
airfields at the earliest opportunity commensurate with the priority
stated above:
