These aircraft iy traverse the speed range from subsonic to hypersonic; may be:propelled by conven- tional chemical, rocket, nuclear, or other systems; may be designed to function in any. of numerous capacities varying from the normally-conceived interceptor/bombardment/ etc., assignments, through service as air- borne missile-launching platforms, to that of a flight research vehicle. TALENT clearances are considered essential to provide necessary coverage in this extremely important field of research and military endeavor. Analyst, Navy Section, ASD/SI Probable Soviet development of submarines, Analyst, Navy Section, ASD/SI propelled by nuclear as well as other advanced forms of energy, and/or designed as missile-launching platforms, are high priority responsibilities of the Applied Science Division.
