Director's office has approved transfer of this responsi-
bility from O/RR to 0/0.
3. Foreign Service Economic Reporting (Proposed Executive Order)
DCI has signed letter in reply to Bureau of Budget request
for views.
4. Intelligence Support for 0/PC
O/PC-State discussions indicate satisfactory arrangements
reached; no apparent problem at the moment.
5. NSC 29 - Protection of Strategic Resources and Industrial
Facilities Abroad
Paper identifying CIA responsibilities under NSC 29 has
been submitted to Director.:O/PC and O/SO responsibilities
had not been in question. CIA has no overall research responsi-
bility. I&S responsibility to conduct surveys and recommend
necessary action has been reaffirmed by DCI.
6. State Department Cables
State-CIA agreement signed arranging for receipt and
conditions of use of certain State cables.
