POST-MORTEMS ON NIE's
IAC agreement exists on procedure
whereby ONE with the agencies will
re-examine certain NIE's to determine
intelligence deficiencies and gaps.
Their conclusions are turned over to 0IC
which has the responsibility of initiat-
ing appropriate action to do something
about these deficiencies.
1. A report to the IAC on SE-27 was submitted on
15 October. OIC has been following up on the performance in
pursuance of the decisions registered in that section of the
15 October report prepared by OIC. A new status report for
the TAC covering both the ORR-EIC and the OIC elements may be
appropriate in a month or so.
2. On 15 and 16 December ONE held post-mortems on NIE-35/2
and NIE-47, NIE-55/1, and NIE-58. OIC will prepare for the DCI's
signature a draft letter to the IAC heads upon receipt from ONE
or reference from DD/I of these post-mortems.
