SUBJECT: Extract Statement of CIA Organization
and Functions (attached)
1. The DCI has authorized distribution of subject extract
in single copy to each IAC member; accordingly, it is forwarded
for your information and retention.
2. It is hoped that this official statement will assist the
IAC members in briefing their senior personnel concerned with
the cooperative efforts of the IAC community, so that either
joint enterprises or use of CIA services of common concern may
be based on an accurate understanding of CIA's operation.
3. The Director has asked that the attached statement
be held personally by the IAC members, not reproduced, and
made available only to senior officials on their staffs. As
changes in the statement occur they will be furnished the
addressees.
