Subject: Request for EDIC Action - Petrochemical plants
for U.S.S.R.

The Department of Commerce (BFC) has received export
license applications for the sale and export to the U.S.S.R.
of nine various types of petrochemical plants. These applica-
tions are currently under study in BFC and are in the process
of being documented for consideration by the Advisory Committee
on Export Policy. In connection with this documentation, BFC
has indicated appropriate intelligence information would be
very helpful.
Accordingly, it would be appreciated if EDIC could
provide the BFC with whatever information is available relative
to these plants and the commodities which they produce. Specific
information about these applications and technical material
already gathered by a Technical Task Group can be obtained from
Mr. Leon Keiston, BFC, Code 112, Extension 261+.
