Administrative Assistant to the Preesideat. We had net met before and be was most cordial. He spoke ad his high regard for the Agency and yourself. However, ho spoke strongly of his concern over the number send type of 'brier which were being given to various committees of tine Ceae-gross i* recent weeks. Be said his worry was abort discussing classified intelligence information with so many Congressmen which would Set as almost certain printing of the same information is the press soon there- after. He felt it preferable feeler QA to limit itself to intelligence briefings of our own subcommWses in either house. He seemed well aware of overall problem of Congressional relations and realised that there was as adverse feeling by these Congress- men who are not briefed one the grounds that they felt they had a right to know and he agreed that this was significant is the problem of a joist committee for CIA to which he was strongly opposed. Mr. Harlow said he bad discussed his concern over these briefings with General Goodpsstare sat General Persons sad he believed they shared it. He also iadieateed that there had been some discussions with Representative Rayburn, but his reference to this was semew vague. I asked Um it there was anything we should to at this time and he said he feat it was basically a White Moses* problars.
