the use of the slide rule. The course includes instruction in signal
recognition. I believe this subject must overlap into the field of the
FLINT intelligence analyst. It concerns itself with such matters as how
to identify what type of equipment is producing a particular electromag-
netic emission, how such signals are measured, reading of the oscillo-
scope, and interpretation of what the signals mean the electronic device
in question is doing, etc.
. Other items of interest which. I learned during the trip were:
a. OC has no trouble in obtaining students for their
courses since they have introduced a system of testing all
radio technicians who return from the field to insure they
have retained their basic communications skills. If skills
are not maintained, the employee is not certified for promotion
to higher grades or more responsible assignments.
