MEMORAMMUM BY THE FRENCH DELEGATION
EXPORT OF ELECTRONIC TUBES TO POLAND
Further to a memorandum dated the 23rd April 1959 (COCOM Doc. 3502)
Concerning a proposal for an export to Poland by the Thomson-Houston Co. of elec-
tronic tubes to the value of $ 34,500, the French Delegation have the honour to
inform the Committee of the following additional details which have just been
received from the Commercial Counsellor at the French Embassy in Warsaw,
These tubes are intended to be fitted into radar sets, of Polish
manufacture, Type R.L.M. 61 A, and utilised to the extent of 3 tubes of each ca-
tegary (1 in service and 2 spares) per set.
These 50 radar sets, thus equipped, are to he installed on board
fishing or trading vesqels of the Polish merchant marine, to replace radar, sets
of foreign manufacture which they have been using up to the present and which have
become obsolete or unfit for use.
Interested Delegates will be able to consult a descriptive booklet
oncerning marine radars of the R.L.M. 61 A type, which is being, handed to the
Secretariat at the same time as this document.
The French Delegation would be grateful if the Coordinating Committee
would be good enough to mike known their views on this export as soon as possiblea
