RECORD OF STATEMENT_BY THE UNI ED STATES DELEGATE
ON
THE SUPPLY OF TECHNICAL DATA FOR THE PRODUCTION OF POLYESTER FILM
TO THE SOVIET UNION
June 18th, 1959
Present: Belgium (Luxembourg), Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Japan,
Netherlands, United Kingdom, United States.
The United States Delegate informed the Committee that his
authorities had rejected an application for the export to the Soviet
Union of technical data for equipment used in the production of polyester
film caught under the definition of Item 1920. His authorities believed
that similar technical data were available in other Free World countries
and they hoped by this announcement to assist other Member Countries in
guarding against the possibility of the inadvertent export of such data.
The Delegate assumed that his authorities had in mind, among other things,
the applicability of Administrative Principle No. 5.
