The Netherlands Delegate said that his authorities have boon
informed that an ardor had boon received by a Netherlands form for the
dolivory to Czechoslovakia of 3000 valves, typo E 88 CC, to be utilised
in television receivers.
According to the specifications, these valves were to be designed
~o withstand vibration of 2.5 g for 32 hours at 50 cycles per second. This
meant that for at least one frequency between 25 and 170 cycles per second
the valves corresponded to the specification of Item 1558(d)(1) and were
therefore under embargo. For this reason the Netherlands firm had not
accepted the order and had advised the use of other non-strategic valves.
On various occasions the Czechoslovakian firm had insisted on
the delivery of these valves and had finally informed the Netherlands
firm that a company from another Member Country would be willing to deliver
these valves, type E 88 CC.
Tie Netherlands authorities wished to inform the Committee of
these facts and invited other Member Countries to adopt the same attitude.
