1. The CHAIRMAN drew the attention of the Committee to the United Kingdom
proposal (COCOM 3481) to export various chemicals to Poland. He invited Delegates
to give the views of their authorities.
2. The UNITED STATES Delegate said that his authorities had no objection
to the export of lithium bromide but they did object to the export of the
thorium chloride because of domestic legislation.
3. There were no objections from the other Members of the Committee.
~. 'The UNITED KINGDOM Delegate expressed his thanks for the favourable views
which had been given. Thorium chloride had not been contained in any previous
exceptions request, but he drew the attention of the United States Delegate to
prvious proposals to export similar materials covered by the defintiion of Item 1
of the Atomic Energy List (COCOM 3454, 3462). For the second of these exceptions
cases, the views of the United States Delegation were given in COCOM 3480.
