1. The CHAIRMAN drew the Committee's attention to a United Kingdom
proposal to export to Poland two computers, covered by Item 1565 and valued at
424,700. He invited delegates to make ~-,nown the views of their Governments.
2. The NETHERLANDS Delegate stated that he had been instructed to
request technical details as to the speed, type and capacity of these instru-
ments, and also to enquire whether they functioned with transistors or ordinary
tubes. The Netherlands authorities would reserve their position until they
received the information required.
3. The BELGIAN Delegate stated that his authorities would raise no
objection to the United Kingdom request in view of the educational end-use.
4. The UNITED STATES Delegate stated that his authorities did not
object to the proposed export laude r the special policy applied in the case
of Poland.
5, The other delegations raised no objection, and the UNITED KINGDOM
Delegate thanked his colleagues for their favourable replies. He took note of
the Netherlands Delegation's reserve and undertook to obtain his authorities'
replies to the questions put.
