Approved For Release : CIA-RDP62-00647A000104Jf.0Qt71kh 0 GL LMAN D. LL.GATION COORDINATING CC.I'.ITTEE COCO'M DOC 4134 Paris, September 7,195J MEMORANDUM BY THE G;.,RMAN D__"LI GATT ON ON THEE ~P0RTOF AN AUTC)+i TIC SORTER TO POLAND The German authorities have received an applic:tion to license the shipment of an automatic sorter type A for ceramic and foil capacitors valued at 2.977,--% covered by item 1530 to Poland. The automatic sorter is destined to a plant making styroflex foil capacitors. The sorting is made by a high voltage test O..3kV, 4 capacitance tolerances or 4 groups and power factor; capacitance me-isuring range'. 20...20 000 pF when sorting with power factor, 1... 20 000 pF when sorting without po,~,,er factor test; measuring frequency: 100 ke/s sorter capacity: 2 500 pieces per hour: The maximal accuracy is 2 . This small accuracy and the small frequency do not allow sorting of high valued strategic capacitors, as for radar sets, portable ra- dio transmitters or rockets (missiles). The specification of the equipment is typical for automatic sorters for capacitors used in t'.Le radio and television sets making industries, whereas radar- and radio transmitters are normally tested with an accuracy bettor than 1 ;9, and for rockets (missiles) capacitors with a temperature-range of item 1560 are needed. Styroflex foils and styroflex foil capa- citors to be sorted by the equipment do not reach these temperature-- ranges and therefore are not covered by the embargo. In view of the foregoing the German authorities would like to ;rant the licence. The German Delegation submit the request within the framework of the special policy adopted towards Poland and hope that no objections will be raised. They would be grateful to hear the views of the Governments at an early opportunity. Approved For Release : CIA-RDP62-00647A000100220067-5
