The, German delegation have the honour submit the following exception request to the Committee s Ater the first request to deliver railway signalling cables the electrification of the railway line from Sofia to Plovdiv the for German firms have submitted another application for the second stage 7. i.e. Plovdiv Svilengrad. The. delivery would amount to the shipment of 133 kms of railway communication cables and of 4.3 kms branch? cables (station approach-cables). The specificationsof d cables are exactly the same as those mentioned in Cocom Doc, and 3734 for the delivery of the 180 ions for the line Sofia-Plovdiv. The value of the new order amounts to approximately / .~ y ~400.000.-. The ca'cle- laying'will be carried out under the supervision of German technicians who will also control the installation of the equipment. The German ,authorities are of the opinion that this 'export as. the export mentioned in Cocom Doc,.3722 will serve the interest of Free World as well since it Will facilitate, and spud up interna- tionaltraffic;on this section of tI}e. Orient-Express line, This request is supported by the Federal Republic St::.te Railways believe that the other railway companies interested in this ling The German delegation submit this request also in favour of its electrification. as an "ad hoc" case in accordance with the introduction to COCON Doc,,, 3620 and trust that as in the case concerning Sofia-Plovdiv no objections will be raised.
