Approved For Release 2000/08/23 : CIA-RDP62-00647A000200020002-7 CONFIDENTIAL 14th May, 1960 COCOM Document No. 3998 COORDINATING COMMITTEE MEMORANDUM BY THE GERMAN DELEGATION ON THE EXPORT TO 2OL41.h'D OF DIRECTION FINDING EQUIPMENT The German authorities have received an application to license the shipment cf two units direction finding equipment Tcle_funken PSt 102, total valze $ 20,000, covered by Item 1501(d)(5). The equipment works within the frequency range from 1.5 Mc/s to 25 Mc/s. One unit will be installed on the Warsaw airport, the other one on the Poznan airport. They will be used to safeguard the civilian air traffic. It is well known that the Warsaw airport is used by many western air companies; as far as the airport of Poznan is concerned, it is used by western companies particularly during the Poznan fair. The equipment has been developed during the years 1952/1953 and is ih regular production since 1958. No technical know-how unknown to the Bloc is incorporated 1_n the sets. All assurances against reexport and diversion ins been obtained from the Polish authorities. The German Delegation submit the case under the special policy adopted towards Poland and hope that no objection will he raised against the shipment.
