COORDINATING COMMITTEE
MEMORANDUM BY THE FRENCH DELEGATION
FRENCH CONTRIBUTION TO THE BUDGET OF THE COORDINATING COMMITTEE
The French Delegation, following the communication set out in
COCOM Document No. 3919, dated the 18th March 1960, concerning the
rehousing possibilities offered to the Coordinating Committee by the
French authorities, have the honour to inform the Committee that the
suggested premises will be open to inspection by the Chairman on
Tuesday the 29th March.
The French Delegation confirm that the competent French authorities
have instructed them to inform the Coordinating Committee that the
French Government could not bear the cost of the rent and running
expenses for these premises.

The French Delegat4 are in a position to inform the Coordinating
Committee that the competent French authorities are prepared to assume
responsibility for meeting part of the expenses arising out of the
installation of the Coordinating Committee at the Avenue Pierre ler
de Serbie, but they consider it appropriate that these should be:
(1) included in the budget covering the Coordinating Committee's
operating costs, which should comprise all expenditure arising out
of the Coordinating Committee's activities: staff, office expenses,
translation expenses, rent, etc...;
(2) shared between the various Member States in the Committee
in proportions to be determined,
The competent French authorities believe it to be desirable that
the Coordinating Committee should proceed to the ostablishment, in
the same conditions as for ii6rnational organisations in general, of
a complete budget for its expenses, which should be met by means of
contributions from the Member States.
The French Delegation would be grateful if Delegations of
the countries represented in the Coordinating Committee would be
good enough to study these suggestions and make known their views
as soon as possible.
