Export of a Computer to Poland
Memorandum by the United Kingdom Delegation
The United Kingdom authorities have been asked to
approve the export to Poland of a "Short" analogue computer
and ancillary equipment valued at $19, 120 which is covered
by the definition of Item 1565.
2. The analogue computer and ancillary equipment are for
use by the Akademia Gorniczo-Hutnicza, Katedra Electrotechniki
Gorniczej for the investigation of problems concerned with the
control of electrical machinery such as coal cutters and
traversers. The usual assurances against re-export will be
obtained.
3. Her Majesty's Government consider that this request is
reasonable and wish to authorise the export under the special
Polish exceptions procedure. They would be grateful for the
views of Member Governments by April 7 or on a bilateral basis
to the United Kingdom Delegation up to April 12.
