1. With reference to the prbblem which had been raised by the Italian
Delegation concerning the issue of import certificates without any indication
of the quantity and value of the goods (COCOM 3727), the Belgian Delegate
informed the Committee that his authorities did not issue such certificates.
They did however issue global import certificates where large quantities
or high values were concerned, but in such cases the quantity and value
were explicitly stated, moreover these certificates were not valid for a
period of more than 6 months.
2. the period of validity of Belgian import certificates was usually
unlimited but there was a condition that they should be sent to the authorities
of the exporting country within three months.
