THE PROCEDURE FOR RECORDING MINIMUM SHIP14ENTS CASES
23rd November 1959

1. The FRENCH Delegate invited the attention of the Committee to his
authorities' memorandum (COCOA 3785) concerning the procedure for minimum
shipments cases. At present the Committee fixed a date limit for the presen-
tation of the views of Member Goveriiments and, if no objections were raised to
the export, no further record was made. His authorities suggested that in such
cases the appropriate summary should indicate that none of the Delegations had
raised objections.
2. The CHAIRMAN welcomed the French suggestion as one which would
complete the Committee's records of each case submitted and suggested that
since the summary of each meeting had no official status, it would be more
appropriate for the Secretariat to prepare a document each month giving details
of the minimum shipments cases to which no objections had been raised.
3. The COMMITTEE approved this proposal and it was agreed that in
future a document would be issued by the Secretariat each month recording
particulars of those minimum shipments cases submitted to the Committee and
to which no objections had been raised before the expiry of the agreed date
limit.
