1. The CHAIki N drew the Committee's attention to a French proposal
to export hyperfrequency r.:easurine equipment to Poland. He invited Delegates
to state their Govc rnraents' views.
2. The DANISH, GER. AN, ITALIAN, JAPANESE and UNITED KINGDOid Delegates
stated that their Governr.ients raised no objection to this export.
3. The UNITED STATES Delegate stated that his Government had no
objection to this extort, but would be grateful to the French authorities
if they would .endeavour to obtain a definite assurance from the Polish
authorities that this equil:aent would not be used to military ends. The
United States Government had noted the assurances the French Government had
already received as to the utilisation cf this equipment for scientific pur-
toses, but considered that these did not exclude all possibility of military
application.
4. The FRENCH Delegate assured his United States colleague that in
granting authority to issue a licence for the equipment concerned, his office
would recommend that the competent French department should make every effort
to ubtain the assurances requested by the United States authorities.
5. The BELGIAN, CAN..DIAN and NETHERLANDS Delegates stated that their
Governments raised no objection to the French proposal.
6. The FiiENCH Delegate thanked the Committee for the favourable views
they had expressed on his Government's request.
