comments was examin the three Branches of the
Map Library. All three Branches are unanimous in
their opinion that the Glossary is a very helpful,
specialized tool which can be put to immediate and

several maps published by official
sources and found that nearly every word in the
legends was included in the Glossary. They feel
that the Glossary would be a very valuable supplemen
to the standard dictionaries and glooavaealies already

The Reference Branch indicated that it could use
seven copies. Two copies would be used within the
Branch for research on~ maps, books, and
place name locations. The Reference Branch finds
that the Glossary is much more inclusive in its
compilation of geographic and cartographic terms,
especially the specialized terms, than collections
of general terms (like dictionaries) which it
already has and that therefore the Glossary will be
both much more valuable and convenient. The Branch
would like to have four copies available for loan
pur oses to other components (namely, D/GG, D/GC,
DD/P, the Department of State, etc.); and one copy
fortUe Depository.
