SUBJECT: D/GL Activity Report for the Month of May, 1959
A. MS or Research and Technical Support Activity
1. During May, the Reference Branch serviced a total of 1,269
map requests (1,152 general map requests and 117 ATMP items). Africa,
the USSR, and the United States were the areas of map request concen-
tration. There was an increase in requests from CIA components for

a. The servicing of map materials during the month included:
1. Filling four rush requests for the White House.
2. Forwarding of materials to two overseas Field Offices.
3. Filling a rush request for personnel leaving for
overseas duty.
4. Sending specialized subject and base maps to the
Net Evaluations Sub Committee.
b. Considerable technical support was provided a member of
the State Department who wort d in the Map Library on a project on
Africa. A member of the Reference Branch selected many maps from
various sources to supply specialized coverage of the desired area.
