1. This memorandum contains a request for DCI action.
c:uch request is summarized in paragraph 5.
Z. Your memorandum of 307 April 1957 transmitted the
Inspector General's report which contained 160 specific recom-
mendations on which DD/P comments were requested.
3. A memorandum from the DD/P to the DCI, TS #118089A,
ro,ased action by the DCI on 141 of the s ecific recommenda-
cions. The memorandum suggested that action on 14 of the
remaining recommendations be deferred pending receipt of
comments from overseas and that action be postponed on the other
5 recommendations, 2 of which subsequently were the subject of
a memorandum dated 14 January 1958 from the DO/P to the DCI.
4. Comments on the survey's recommendations have been
25X1A6a received, particularly from the as
outlined in Tab A in a memorandum from the C/TSS. For each
of the recommendations not covered in previous DD/P
memoranda, there is attached a statement under Tab B quoting
the Inspector General's recommendation (referring to it by
page number) giving the DD/P proposal for DCI action and
stating the reason for this 1>ro~oaal. These statements cover
the three postponed and fourteen deferred recommendations.
5. Summary of DCI action pr3posed on the 17 recommenda-
ons not previously covered:
a. Recommendation accomplished on 7 items
b. No action on 7 items
c. Disapproval of 4 items
