Inspector General's Statement
The name of the Branch be changed to something
more accurately reflecting its primary function as
the DD/P machine center.
DD/P Comment
Defer action: Recently the name of the Branch was
changed from Machine Branch to Services Branch due
to the location of additional machines in other branches
of RID. Although the present name can be improved
upon it appears in instructions, notices and memoranda
of particular significance today, and is in general ac-
ceptance throughout DD/P. With the installation of

 machines now on order for the Central Retrieval
System it is contemplated that a number of name
changes will be required to define better the func-
tions that will then be performed by a number of
components within RID. It is felt, therefore, that
it would be more beneficial to defer action on the
recommended name change until the installation
of the new machinery.
