Recommended DCI Action: a. Approve b. Approve as modified a. The DD/P direct that specific positions within each of the divisions and senior staffs, and at selected overseas posts, be designated as registry positions and that they be staffed by personnel assigned by, or fully trained by, the RI Division. b. The DD/P delegate to the DD/P Records Officer and the Area Division Records Officers the responsibility for the implementation of the preceding recommendation. DD/P Comment a. Concur: No further action is considered necessary since RID instituted a program in Copy / of f= Copies Al%lh November 1958 which has now proved successful. This program was designed to provide replace- ments and train Area Division candidates for all presently identified Registry type positions. Al- though the program has been informal it has been quite successful to the extent that during the past ferred from RID to Registry positions at Head- quarters and in the Field. Those employees assigned to Registry positions who did not trans- fer from RID to the Area Divisions were fully trained by RID before departure, unless the time element made it impossible to do so. b. Concur with modification: Since the assign- ment and training of personnel are considered command responsibilities of the Area Divisions the DDP/RMO will monitor the implementation of the preceding recommendation and resolve with Area Division Records Management Officers any problems that may arise.
