1. This memorandum contains a request for DCI action.
Such request is summarized in paragraph 3.
2. Your memorandum of 27 March 1957 transmitted the
report of the Inspector General and requested our comments by 15
May 1957. These comments are contained in the reference. They
take the form of (a) a synopsis memorandum and (b) individual
responses to the detailed Inspector General recommendations. For
each of these latter items, which number 62, the DD/P statement
quotes the Inspector General's recommendation (referring to it by
page number), gives the DD/P proposal for DCI action, and states
the reason for this proposal.
3. Summary of DCI action proposed on the Inspector
General's recommendations:
a. Approval of 24 items.
b. Approval of 26 items with modifications or
limitations.
C. No action on I 1 items
d. Disapproval of 1 item.
