MEMORANDUM FOR: Director of Central Intelligence
SUBJECT: Inspector General's Survey of the Planning and
Program Coordination Staff
1. The attached report summarizes the results of the Inspector
General's survey of the Planning and Program Coordination Staff, DD/P,
and is submitted for your consideration.
2. In general, this survey concludes that the PPC Staff has
made commendable progress in coordinating the planning, programming,
and reporting activities of the Clandestine Services, including those
projected in the event of general war.
3. It is assumed that planning in its cold and hot war aspects
is important and that, the requirement for T)Thnnina is ,,,,+ A~.,,eFe1,,.
4. Also attached is a memorandum of transmittal to the DD/P for
your signature, requesting that he provide you with his comments on
the survey no later than 31 December 1956.
