SUBJECT . Inspector General's Survey of the Office of
Coinnudeeations
1. This is with reference to yours memorandum of 9 June con-
cerning subject report sad the recom iendetion of certain action on
the part of the ELINT staff Officer.
2. As a result of a discussion with General Cabell on this
subject on 7 June, we are working with l r~toward preparation
of an Agency regulation,-missions and fvnc ons or components and
other documents required to formalize the ELINT activities.
3. With the concurrence of the DDCI, we have taken no action
with respect to the IG's report on ELINT inasmuch as it is grossly
inaccurate and does not represent the true state of affairs. A sum-
mary mary of the current EL321T program of the Agency is in prepa3?atio .
