MEMORANDUM FOR: General Cabell 16 October 1956
I talked for about half an hour this morning with the Director
about our plans. As you and I had agreed we stayed completely away
from any final conclusions or decisions. I believe the conversation
may have served to stimulated him to reflect further on the decisions
that need to be made.
I will be here on the 18th but away on the 19th. My purpose
in writing you this note is to urge that you pin the Director down to a
definite time Saturday morning when the three of us can review our
situation and lay our plans. I have postponed my departure for Europe
from the 22nd until the 23rd but will be In bad trouble if I cannot obtain
decisions from you and the Director on the 20th.

RICHARD M. BISSELL, JR.
