You have probably heard from RC by now that I will be transferred
STATINTL to another project in the near future. As soon as the propel- clearance
can be arranged, will be taking over my re-
sponsibilities as far as this project is concerned. Tie is a grand guy
and an extremely competent engineer, and, therefore, no difficulty should
be anticipated in the transfer.
I would. like to take this opportunitir to say that it has certainly
been a delightful and rewarding experience to have been associated with
this project. The speed and success with which the project materialized
goes to show just how much can be accomplished with the relatively small
group of people working very close together with the very minimum of red
tape. I certainly attribute its success in no small part to your personal
leadership.
It has been personally gratifying to me to have the opportunity of
taking an engine basically designed for operation to base plus 7 under
these conditions and pushing it up to base plus 31.5. Needless to say
a great amount of luck was involved.
It has been a great pleasure to knew you and w ork with you. Here's
hoping we can do it again sometime with similar results. If I can ever
be of any further assistance, personal or otherwise, please call on me.
