Some time ago we had a change here in the office of Bureau of
Aeronautics Representative. Captain Kenna, USN, was replaced by
Captain Forrest A, Roby, USN.
Captain Kenna:at the start of our project was briefed without
being made knowledgeable by someone in the Defense Department that
there was a project and his cooperation with this contractor in its'
performance in the'Iproject was requested. Captain Kenna passed this
on verbally to his executive officer, Commander Wheaton, who has
cooperated with us completely on any question that has come up in
this regard. WhenCF-ptain Kenna left, Commander Wheaton expressed
an understandable desire that Captain Roby as his superior officer
receive a similar briefing to include the fact that overhaul would
be performed here since the original briefing involved the procurement
side only.
I discussed this with Bill Wilson and he also heard it from
Commander Wheaton on one of his visits here. I know Bill made
efforts to have this done prior to Captain Roby reporting here but it
evidently didn't get accomplished. Friday Commander Wheaton again
made his request. Bill and I feel that this is a Justifiable request
and I would appreciate it if'it could be accomplished.
